Crystal Cruises, a subsidiary of the Japanese company NYK Line (Nippon Yusen Kaisha), was established in May 1988. NYK Line, the largest and most integrated transportation company in the world, provides comprehensive sea, land and air transportation and logistics services. Crystal Cruises took delivery of its first ship „Crystal Harmony“ in June 1990 followed by the sister ship „Crystal Symphony“ in April 1995. These two the most spacious and luxurious ships afloat have been joined by „Crystal Serenity“ in the summer of 2003. Every aspect of design and service make these the finest large luxury ships afloat earning Crystal Cruises a SIX-STAR rating.

 

Since the launch of Crystal Cruises first luxury ship, Crystal Harmony, the company has continually set new standards of excellence in the cruise industry. ICMA (International Cruise Management Agency), a fully owned subsidiary of NYK Line, is responsible for the complete Crew Management and other administrative functions of Crystal Cruises Inc. and NYK Cruises. ICMA is located in Oslo, Norway. Its representatives come to the Baltic States approximately two-three times a year to interview the candidates applying for a job with Crystal Cruises. ICMA usually employs Dining Room Waiters/esses, Bar Waitresses and Cabin Stewardesses with previous work experience on the cruise ships of other respectful cruise companies.
